Tracing the Foot Step

For some reasons, I name this post as Tracing the Foot Step, definitely is not because I used to study nearby for 5 years.  Eventhough I spent 5 years staying there, but I hardly went to Setiawan, only twice I guess.

So this trip was about eating and praying. Yaya I just went there last week with my family. But this week is different kind of combination, it was our first time went to other state together.

We started our journey at about 11.30am, heading to the south with highway and old road. I’m not so sure how much is the time difference by using highway all the way to Jelapang, passing by UTP, Teluk Batik, then only reach Setiawan. Longer journey I can foresee.

It was lunch time when we arrived Kg Cina, for seafood lunch. Yea, since Setiawan is near to sea, so seafood is a must in our makan list.

There are lotsa restaurant there, but THE blogger recommended this one. :p

After taking late lunch which is about 4pm, we headed to the main destination of the day, Pasir Panjang Tua Pek Kong. From far, you can see very huge god and goddess statues, facing the sea.  The first thing to do was nothing but of course praying. We might be young but we pray too okay!

After praying, it was photo shooting session. Pictures speak louder than words. Just have a look at pictures taken. Actually there are many statues, from 十八罗汉to二十四孝 and the infamous 大伯公,观音娘娘, the list goes on.

we are rabbits

My dear chabo told us, it is kinda difficult to find Guan Yin Status with the vase facing down, with water flowing all the way down. And yes, there is one there. Seeing other people make use of the water, we also washed our hands with water, maybe can wash your IC, car number plat to strike number. I’m not so sure about the effectiveness, it is all about luck I think.

thanks ah hia for helping us to snap picture

im so pro, ss-ing

looks tempting?
There is one so called Monkey Garden where I didn’t see any monkey over there since last week too. Or maybe I overlooked them. Crabs and mudskippers are staying in the mangrove. Next time should pay a visit to Kuala Sepetang for more mangrove sightseeing.

Was trying to look for must-eat-local-delight according to some blogs and website, Cendol and Kong Piah (a type of biscuit which is quite famous among Hokchiew people in Setiawan), tried it few years back in Ayer Tawar, it contains spring onion and pork. It was quite late when we arrived the destination, and the luck was not with us, both cendol stall and kong piah shop already closed. Oh no!!!

Headed back to north disappointedly, we stopped by Taiping for dinner, haha as if we were eating non stop.

That is all about the trip, not so tiring compared to last week, having lotsa fun with the girls. :)

Almost forget bout this, Setiawan is famous with this must bring home products - mee suah, red wine for cooking etc.
